Pressed Flowers from Hell

Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, Thailand

Lest we forget

that there once was a time,

that men,

while up to their knees in mud and blood

assaulted by the horrors of war,

still had the grace

to pick a flower,

press it,

and send it home to their loved ones

to comfort them.
