Deep under Denmark’s Kronborg Castle, home to Hamlet, sleeps national hero Holger the Dane.
Nothing rouses him. Not the tourists on guided tours nor the Shakespeare festival held every summer.
This literal sleeping giant, former hero of French literature, sleeps alone in the casemates of the castle. Arms folded. Head lightly bowed. Dreaming.
In his dreams he sees everything that happens in Denmark
Hans Christian Anderson
Holger will wake upon the hour of Denmark’s greatest danger.
Which, considering WW2 didn’t wake the guy, is going to be one bad hour.
