Mortsafes: No Ghouls Allowed

Today I read about mortsafes, thatched iron gates built over the graves of the newly interred.

Designed to hold body snatchers and the uncanny at bay, mortsafes kept the dead unscathed.

Or as unscathed as they could be anyway.
